Should I Download GTME Even Though It Doesn’t Return the Google Search Count Right Now?
Of course!!
The main reason you should go ahead and download GTME is so that you will be added to my email list and I can notify you once there is a working version available (for free).
Don’t worry, I don’t send out emails to you trying to get you to buy affiliate offers. You can ask anyone on my list, the last email I sent out was back in January of this year (and it was for an affiliate offer that I thought would be useful, however, I quickly decided to not do that again and haven’t since). So, you won’t get bombarded with spam or affiliate junk from me.
Best Wishes,
Benjamin

Mike Mindel at al seem to have fixed their Gtrends tool now (http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/gtrends). Does that mean that your (excellent) tool should be working too?

Hi Chris,
It looks like Google has reinstated the base term used for calculating GTrends, so GTME is working again!

I’m curious…
I’ve seen various methodologies for calculating a numeric trend (volume), but I honestly cannot see how you’re getting that from the basic search and GTrend results.
Wordtracker references dogpile and webcrawler, but I’ve seen no indication whatsoever of numerical values. Am I just not looking in the right area?

Hi Greg,
GTME automates the GTrends method discussed in Ed Dale’s Thirty Day Challenge.
You are correct in your thinking about interpolating based upon a baseline sample.
The GTrends method compares two graphs, one with a known search volume (based on their experience) and calculates the search volume for the keyword desired based on that information.
Of course, it is still an estimate.
If you want to find out more information, I highly suggest you check out the Thirty Day Challenge website & forum.
Best Wishes,
Benjamin

Hey Benjamin,
Is GTME having problems again? All of my searches are returning -1 for Gtrends count
